About

Through custom art and design, Empathic Arts aims to capture the emotion and essence of each person, pet, or event. Working with you means learning what means most to you and portraying that through art.

Empathic Arts consists of one artist: Madelaine. Creating art for others has brought me great joy for as long as I can remember. It was this joy that inspired me to grow more serious with my art.

I began with portraiture of loved ones and then completed a Body Image Series to express my passion for the treatment of eating disorders and body image disturbance. Later, I served as a volunteer artist for the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago as well as the WINGS Program. Going forward, I hope to continue artistic activism and volunteerism as well as offer professional services.

Empathic Arts integrates several parts of who I am: artist, aesthete, techie, empath, and mental health counselor. I am pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with an interest in arts-based qualitative research. My research collaborations have been published in academic journals and presented at conferences across the United States.
